Only one potential site was found.

This is probably not the best site because the CO2 is very localized, but it has the advantage of being close to existing MSU field sites. All of the CO2 is coming from the vent and elavated concentrations do not extend more than approx. 5 ft. .
Sampling location #1 (above) fluctuates within the range 600 - 1250 ppm. Plant Species = Dichanthelium 30%, Pseudognaphalium 30%, Racomitrium canescens 30%. Soil Temperature = 38 C. pH = 8.0
The rest of the sampling locations (above) experience brief wind-driven episodes of 400 - 700 ppm, but remain at ambient levels most of the time.
